First Stop, Rome, Italy!

This picture was taken by a friend of mine as I attended Mass in San Pedro's Vasilica (Vatican).

Front view of Vatican City entrance.

Right at the entrance

Fun Fact!  All Popes are buried on the bottom floor of the Vatican.  Don't remember what Pope this was (your not suppose to take pictures).

Obviously this picture was taken on the "down low."  No one is allowed to take pictures of the Sistine (not sixteen lol) Chapel.  That is the tip of my hat you see in the picture.

Maximus, Maximus, Maximus!  Arriving at the Coliseum!!  It's just amazing seeing this standing in the middle of the city.

Closer look!  I could hear in my head what the roar of the crowd must have sounded like as the Gladiators entered the stadium!

Inside the stadium.  Not very much is left due to looting and earthquakes.  It's still amazing.

Floor of the Coliseum.  It's said that the floor was retractable, and could be filled with water to simulate sea battles.

This is a pic of a sign on the back of our taxi.  I thought it was hilarious.  Of course I tipped.

Rome is just an amazing place to visit.  I literally have hundreds of pictures of amazing art pieces.  It's like every where you turn there is a photo opportunity.  I advise everyone to visit Rome at least once.  You will not regret it.  See you next week Chubbies.  Not sure where I will be taking you, but I can assure you it will be fun.  Remember, if you have any suggestions please let me know (Like should I post more pics, or is this too many pics?).

  1. Hi! I'm really glad you've come up with this idea. I envy you for being in different parts of the world and took more travel photos than I ever did. Now, you inspired me to travel, not just here in the US, but everywhere.. it will really take time for me to be able to do that kind of traveling (wishful thinking!) haha! I would really encourage you to continue this and to keep posting more of your travel photos. Few suggestions...well, just minor suggestions: the background is great! Perfect for you title of this segment! Also, I think you could decrease the size of your pictures, not too much, just a little, so they don't really look so blown up. Try to center the pictures too with the words below each picture. Other than that, the site looks good! Keep adding more pictures! I'll be dropping by that's for sure!

  2. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at the segment. I've made the changes you suggested and am a lot happier with the look of the pics are now. I hope you do start traveling because life is too short to stay at home. By the way U.S. travel is also a lot of fun and not too expensive. Next week I will take you to Mexico and the Pyramids of Chichen itza!
