Yucatan/Quitano Roo, Mexico!

The view from the hotel room in Cancun.

The color of the water is amazing.

One of the pyramids in Coba.

This is the last pyramid on the tour of Coba and one of the only pyramids tourists are allowed to climb (lets just say the Chubster didn't get too high. HA!)

This was taken on a Pirate Excursion (booze cruise).

View of the ship from my seat.

I took this picture from the bus on our way to Chichen itza

We stopped for lunch and shopping at this place.  Don't quite remember the name of it.

Chichen itza!  I was not ready for this jelly.

This is the main pyramid in Chichen itza.  Amazing!

Had to give it to you twice.

During the equinox the image of a serpent makes its way up the side of the pyramid.  Thousands of people gather at this site to witness it every year.

While we were there this excavation was taking place.  It seems that more of the pyramid had just recently been discovered.

There are serpent heads everywhere.

This was the sacrificing temple.

(Not a great Pic) This is the temple zoomed in.  They would lay individuals on the head of the statue in the middle and kill them there.

This wall told the story on why it was a good thing to be sacrificed and the rewards it would come with.

Last day in Quitano Roo ended with a fire show!

I could never imagine the scenery I would encounter in Mexico.  Viewing some of the Mayan Pyramids was a once in a life time opportunity.  Everyone in the city was super friendly and I did not encounter any problems.  I encourage everyone to see the city of Chichen itza at least once.  Hope you enjoyed a little bit of Mexico.  See you next week!

  2. That's awesome that you've visited these places. As beautiful as they are though, I'm such a home body, I'd want to be home in like 24 hours. Ha!

  3. Beautiful. When I lived in Mexico, I went down there a couple times. I loved it. You should try to go to Oaxaca. My favorite spot in Mexico
